The Kalina (Viburnum) is one of the most famous symbols of Ukraine and a timeless unity of the people: connecting the living with those who have passed and those yet to be born. Ancient Slavs considered the Kalina a symbol of the rebirth and continuity of life. The Kalina was also perceived as the tree of blood and lineage, symbolizing the bond between generations and pride in ancestors. According to folk beliefs, the ruby berries of the Kalina symbolize the unbroken spirit and courage of the people who shed blood and gave their lives in the fight for the Motherland.

This patch is made of Cordura 500D—an extremely durable material resistant to abrasion and high loads. The design is applied using colorful machine embroidery, giving the patch a refined and sophisticated look. It attaches to clothing, bags, backpacks, or gear using hook-and-loop (Velcro).
