Machine Gun Ammo Pouches for M249 and PKM for Tactical Use
A machine gun without accessible ammunition is a problem that shows up at the worst possible moment. The ammo box needs to mount securely, stay in place during movement, and come out fast when the gun runs dry. A pouch that fails any of those three requirements is not a field pouch.
M-Tac machine gun ammo pouches are purpose-built for M249 and PKM metal ammo boxes. Not compatible with soft ammo pouches or boxes from other machine gun platforms.
M249 Ammo Box Pouches
The M249 uses 200-round metal ammo boxes. Two pouch configurations cover different tactical requirements.
The closed model uses Cordura 500D with a flap closure secured by VELCRO. An elastic cord holds the box in place during movement. Internal nylon pull-straps on the sides allow fast one-handed extraction without gripping the box directly. Laser Cut MOLLE interface mounts to any compatible load bearing system.
The Fast model upgrades to Cordura Squadron and a two-part construction. A cover sits over the box while a VELCRO-mounted platform with a seating tongue holds the box firmly in place or releases it instantly when needed. A Woojin quick-release buckle on the secondary strap provides an additional retention point that detaches with a single motion. Configurable for right or left side carry depending on the gunner’s position and platform layout.
PKM Ammo Box Pouch
The PKM open-top pouch uses the same Cordura Squadron two-part construction. The open-top design removes the flap entirely, allowing direct box access without releasing any closure. Texel webbing and a Woojin quick-release buckle handle retention and fast detachment. Configurable for right or left side carry.
MOLLE Mounting
All models use Laser Cut MOLLE interface for clean, low-profile mounting on plate carriers, chest rigs, war belts, and any other MOLLE-compatible load bearing platform. No extra hardware required.
