A dog tag is standard military identification carried by every serviceman. In the U.S. Army, the tag includes surname, first name and initial, Social Security Number, blood type and Rh factor, and religious preference. The U.S. Marine Corps format adds the personal number, gas mask size, and "USMC" designation. All M-Tac dog tags are delivered blank and are suitable for laser engraving only.

M-Tac military dog tags are made from steel, a durable and wear-resistant material that holds up to daily field use. Each complete set includes the tag, rubber silencers, and a chain. Rubber silencers grip the edges of the tag, prevent rattling, and stop the plates from clinging together during movement without deforming over time.

The steel chain is water-resistant and hypoallergenic, with a non-removable clasp that secures the ends while allowing disconnection when needed. Chains are available in multiple lengths.
