The M-Tac PowerCord1000 is a heavy-duty nylon cord consisting of a tightly woven outer sheath and a reinforced multi-strand inner core. This construction provides exceptional strength while keeping the cord lightweight.
Originally derived from parachute lines used by WWII paratroopers, paracord became popular due to its versatility — strong, flexible, reliable, and suitable for countless military and civilian applications.
Its practicality is so high that even NASA astronauts used paracord during the STS-82 mission to repair the Hubble Telescope.
